Happy New Year… and a Proper Fresh Start
Happy New Year 💫
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas — or at least a real one, with a bit of rest somewhere in there.
I’ve actually started earlier than usual this year, reopening on 2nd January, and I have to say… it feels good. There’s something about a new year that brings clarity, and I’m coming into 2026 with a really clear sense of direction and purpose.
It’s been so nice already seeing familiar faces back through the door, and I’m genuinely happy to be welcoming new clients too. Whether you’ve been with me for years or you’re just discovering Shhh Beauty & Aesthetics, you’re very welcome here.
Looking at My Work With Fresh Eyes
This year, I’m approaching my work a little differently.
I’ll always love enhancing brows, lips, and skin in a way that looks natural and effortless — but I’m becoming even more focused on medical and restorative permanent makeup, especially clear and scar camouflage.
And this is the part of my work that doesn’t get talked about enough.
Why Scar & Clear Camouflage Can Be Life-Changing
When people think of scars, they often think of something small or insignificant. But if you’re the one living with it, that’s rarely the case.
Scars can come from surgery, accidents, illness, acne, or treatments that were necessary but left a visible reminder behind. And while other people may say “I wouldn’t even notice it”, you notice it — every single day.
I see clients who:
avoid mirrors,
choose clothes to hide certain areas,
feel anxious in intimacy,
or have simply learned to live with something they’ve never truly accepted.
Clear and scar camouflage isn’t about vanity.
It’s about restoring confidence.
Using specialist techniques and carefully chosen pigments, we can soften the appearance of scars, help them blend with surrounding skin, and in many cases make them far less noticeable. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s dramatic. But very often, the emotional shift is immediate.
I’ve seen clients sit up straighter.
Breathe easier.
Finally stop explaining their scar to themselves.
And that’s why this work matters so much to me.
A Quiet, Considered Approach
This kind of work can’t be rushed.
Medical and scar camouflage requires:
careful assessment,
realistic expectations,
time between sessions,
and above all, respect for the skin and its history.
That’s also why patch tests are absolutely essential.
Not optional. Not a tick-box.
Every skin behaves differently, especially scar tissue, and patch testing allows us to work safely and responsibly — which is non-negotiable here.
Moving Forward Together
This year isn’t about trends, filters, or dramatic transformations.
It’s about honest work, done properly, for people who want to feel more comfortable in their own skin — quietly, confidently, and without explanation.
If you have a scar you’ve never known what to do with, an area you’ve always covered, or skin that just doesn’t feel like you anymore, you don’t have to decide anything straight away. A conversation is often the first step.
Thank you, as always, for trusting me — whether you’ve been coming for years or you’re just finding me now.
Here’s to a calmer, more intentional year ahead.
